Help
Everything you need to get going and to get the most out of Niotio. If something is missing, tell us.
Getting started
- Create a campaign. Pick a real campaign or a test campaign — a test campaign never emails real people.
- Add respondents. Type them in one at a time, or import a CSV with email, name and language.
- Check the survey email. Send the test mail to yourself and look at it in your own inbox before anything goes out.
- Send the survey. Every respondent gets a link with their own token, so answers stay attached to the right person.
- Read the result. The NPS score updates as answers arrive, and comments can be reviewed one at a time.
Campaigns and respondents
A campaign moves from draft to active when you send for the first time, and can be closed whenever you like. Deleted campaigns go to the trash and can be restored.
- Share a campaign with a colleague as viewer or editor — they take a seat on your plan.
- Use an anonymous link when you would rather not collect email addresses.
- Reuse a setup: save a campaign as a template, or duplicate it.
- On closing you can anonymise the answers, so personal data is removed while the score stays.

The survey email
You can customise the subject line, intro, sender name and reply-to address. The
subject and intro support the variables {name}, {campaign}
and {link}.
When plain text is not enough, switch on HTML + CSS in the email card on the campaign. You then own the markup and styling of the content block. The rating buttons, the survey link and the unsubscribe footer are always added by us — they cannot be edited away, because they are what makes the mail deliverable and compliant.
- The preview updates as you type (or when you press refresh).
- "Send test email" sends what you are editing, not what was last saved.
- Your CSS is inlined into the markup, because Gmail and Outlook ignore stylesheets. Media queries and
:hoversurvive in a style block. - Scripts, iframes, forms and event handlers are removed on save.
Deliverability and the spam score
Every template gets a spam score from 0 to 100 with the findings that earned the points, so you can see why instead of just being told it is risky. The score is recalculated every time you save.
What typically counts against you:
- All caps, exclamation marks, and phrases like "free", "you have won" or "act now".
- URL shorteners, many links, and links in the subject line.
- A reply-to on a free mailbox when you are sending as a business.
- A very short intro, or a mail with no real text.
The single biggest factor is your domain: send from your own verified domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC in place. Set that up under Settings → Sending domain.
Plans and email allowance
Free includes 100 survey emails per period. Start adds 1,000 emails and 2 seats, Pro adds 3,000 emails, 5 seats, the follow-up case workflow and webhooks, and Business adds 10,000 emails, 15 seats and white label. A seat is you plus the people you share campaigns with.

API, CLI and webhooks
Everything in the app is also available over the REST API with a personal API token from Settings. The CLI makes the same calls from a terminal with stable JSON output.

Data and privacy
You can export a campaign as JSON or PDF, and anonymise respondents once you no longer need them. Two-factor authentication and the session list live in Settings.
